Historic Port Town Experience

Heritage Architecture - Old World Cuisine - Spice Bazaar - Natural Harbour - Old Port - Fishing Nets - Seascape - Muziris Biennale

Mindful design and hospitality that's always excellent.

Xandari Harbour is a boutique hotel snugly sandwiched between elegant Fort Kochi with its historic buildings and churches, and bustling Mattanchery with its bazaars and spice trade.

Fort Kochi is the only place in India which was colonized by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. It is thus a confluence of these three cultures set in a typically Kerala ethos. Mattanchery on the other hand was the centre of the spice trade and a magnet for traders, adventurers and fortune hunters.

"Walking through the big revolving door to Xandari is like stepping through time. For on its outside lie the old historic lanesof Mattancherry and on the inside stands a modern hotel with a manicured lawn and a turquoise infinity pool"

The restaurant at Xandari Harbour is called 51 - named after the building number of the spice warehouse that it is housed in. The award winning heritage structure is restored as a fitting tribute to the spice route.

The delectable fare offered at Restaurant 51 has reflections of the food and cuisine along the Spice Route. Our Chef uses locally sourced fresh produce to create an array of edibles that have traces of Dutch, Portuguese and English cuisine in them, combined with the rich legacy of traditional Kerala recipes.

Spacious balconies with amazing waterfront views are the best part about our Harbour Rooms. The sky is always changing colours and you can see the magic while you lounge on the bed.

With two balconies, the Spice Suite enjoys the vibrant energy of the Bazar and exclusive luxury of space. The resort side has an extensive view of the lawns and the harbour waterfront.

The Harbour Suite is perfect for luxury honeymoons and romantic escapes. With stunning views of Cochin Port on three sides, this is the place to stay for the perfect Kochi holiday.

The streets of Mattanchery still retain the brashness of another era. Both places are epicentres of art and culture. The streets of Mattanchery still retain the brashness of another era. Both places are epicentres of art and culture.

And today, Fort Kochi is home to the Kochi Muziris Biennale, which is the largest Art Exhibition in India and the biggest contemporary Art Festival in Asia.

History has not bypassed Mattancherry and it is a melting pot of communities who have settled here over centuries. Konkanis, Kutchi Muslims, Jains and Jews were the prominent communities that have made this their home, leading to Mattancherry's unique character. Jew street and the Jewish synagogue, Jain temple and Dutch Palace are not to be missed. Walk through the quaint streets of Jew town, lined on either side with tiny shops selling spices, antiques and knick-knacks.
