We have made every effort to design our operations for local community development. The crew and chef are from the local community and their knowledge of the land, the local stories and the insights about this unique habitat are intriguing for any traveler.

It is a common saying that families living along the backwaters teach their kids to swim first, and then walk. Most people use their own wooden canoes to get around.
One of the main forms of livelihood is fishing. You will see many types of fishing techniques being used - some more old school than the others.
You can choose to stay on a single bedroom boat, or two / three bedroom options. One 1 Bedroom houseboat and three 3 Bedroom houseboats have upper deck.

Xandari Resorts is committed to protecting the natural habitat and water quality of the backwaters. A state of the art water treatment & recycling facility has been set up on shore to ensure proper waste management of our houseboats without any adverse effect on the environment. Xandari staff continuously remove single use plastic from the waterways and deliver it to recycling centers in the village.
